Join the Happy City Hub

CfS is proud to introduce its first Knowledge & Innovation Hub "De Gelukkige Stad" in collaboration with the LDE Honours Programme > The Innovation hub 'The Happy City'.

Involvement and autonomy make people happy.  Civil society, in all its diversity and involvement is an important fundament of happy cities - says Prof. Dr. Lucas Meijs, CfS ambassador of The Happy City Hub.

Honours Programme (for Bachelor students)

The Innovation Hub The Happy City gives honours students from all three universities the chance to participate in and link positive design, the field of science that engages in designing for subjective well-being, or happiness, with contemporary urban issues. The intricacy of the concept of happiness and the complexity of the city form the breeding ground for a diversity of researches and designs projects at different scales. Professors and Ph.D-students from Leiden, Delft and Rotterdam in industrial design, psychology, philosophy, urbanism, sociology and economy and students together form the hub ‘The Happy City’.

A new group of honours students will be thinking, dreaming, discovering and designing for a happier city starting February 2017. Are you an LDE student and interested in our honours programme? Find out more about how to apply here or send an e-mail to info@gelukkigestad.nl

Master Thesis Hub (for Master students)

This fall we start taking on graduating students who aspire to make real impact with their Master thesis reasearch. As a student in our hub, you will have access to a broad netwerk of professors, PhD’s, non-profit-organizations, government institutions and companies. Students are expected to formulate their own research questions, based on a collection of diverse urban & sustainability issues set by the different stakeholders.

Are you a soon-to-be graduate and are you curious to find out more?  Join our kick-off event on November 30 (14:00-17:30) at the Groothandelsgebouw in Rotterdam (Next to CS). Interested students can attend the event (free of obligation) for orientation and more information. Coming year six vacancies are available.

Please find more information about graduating in our hub (ENG) and the invitation for the kick-off event attached (only in Dutch) or send an e-mail to info@gelukkigestad.nl
